5/4×6 Grooved Ipe decking is the most common decking profile that is installed. 1×6 Grooved decking is much less common because it is not As rigid as 5/4×6 and it will not be as dimensionally stable. 5/4×6 Decking is pre- grooved in Brazil and it comprises over 80% of the total Ipe decking sold.

5/4×6 Grooved Decking is attached to wood framing with Ipe Clips. Each box of Ipe Clips comes with a drill bit for pre-drilling, clips, stainless steel screws Some plugs for the starter board. 5/4×6 Ipe Decking can be installed on joists spaced at 24″ o.c. Ipe Fencing or Screen Profiles
We offer a wide variety of Ipe Decking profiles for Screens, fences, deck skirts and other facing applications. Framing is typically done in pressure treatred, but it can also be done in Ipe. Fencing or screen boards are typically attached with color matched brown trim screws. The screw heads can be left exposed or covered with a plug (Pro Plug System).

Ipe Framing Profiles
Ipe can be an excellent material for framing exposed and hidden outdoor frames. Exposed frames include shade structures such as Pergolas and Trellises and Deck Railings. Ipe is a low maintenance, long lasting material that is perfect for exposed outdoor structures. Ipe is also used for hidden deck frames. Ipe is stronger than pressure treated wood and it has a class A fire rating. Also, Ipe will not rot for at least 40 years. If you are installing a decking material that has a long life – such as Ipe or Composite or PVC – going with Ipe for your framing will ensure that the entire project lasts for over 40 years. Ipe will not decay in moist environments and can be in contact with soil. Ipe framing is comparable to steel or aluminum, but in most cases the material and labour costs are lower.

Ipe Tiles: Tile sizes - 24"x24".
Ipe Tiles are an excellent choice for a terrace, balcony or a rooftop deck cover. They are 100% Ipe with stainless steel fasteners, so they are sure to last for over 40 years. Ipe Tiles can be installed either with Ipe Tile Connectors. These connectors have a standard thickness of 1/8″. These tiles can also be installed on adjustable height pedestals manufactured by Bison. These pedestals vary in height from fixed 1/8″ to over 24″. The height of Bison pedestals can be adjusted on site. Ipe tiles are a popular choice for condominium common use terraces and private rooftop decks. These tiles can be removed easily for roof repairs and access.

Ipe Siding Profiles:
Ipe siding is an excellent choice for building and house cladding as well as for outdoor sheds and cabanas. We have a special Ipe siding profiles that is installed with Ipe clips and requires no surface fasteners. When installed, there is a visible notched gap between the boards of approx 3/8″. This is not a true gap, but rather a notch in the solid Ipe wall with Ipe showing in this gap. The boards are installed in such a way that even if they shrink as they dry over time, the gap that gets wider will not show the substructure behind the Ipe siding. Ipe siding also diverts any water away from the framing.
- We recommend installing Ipe siding on 1×2 strapping spaced at 24″o.c.

Porch and Outdoor Ceiling Profiles
Ipe tongue and groove boards provide a long lasting and aesthetically stunning solution for outdoor ceilings on porches, cabanas and other structures.
Ipe tongue and groove is typically installed with stainless steel trim head screws. Screws are installed through the tongue of the boards. We recommend installing ceiling framing at 24″ o.c. for tongue and groove Ipe ceiling installations. For best results, oil both sides of Ipe ceilings with Ipe Oil.
